Baldassare Maggi

< p > Baldassare Maggi (numerically also Baltazar Maggi, sometimes referred to as Arogno) (around 1550? Arogno, now canton of Ticino, Switzerland - about 1619 or 1629?) was an Italian architect and builder, an important representative of mannerism. < / p > < p > Born as son of Stefan Maggi. The first written mention of his stay in Bohemia dates back to 1575, when he was mentioned in Český Krumlov, where he worked at the castle of Wilhelm of Rožmberk. According to the context, it is assumed that he worked there in the service of Rožmberks and pans from Hradec since 1570. By the end of the 1980s he worked on many buildings belonging to Rožmberks and masters from Hradec. His works include the rebuilding of castles such as Český Krumlov, Becyne, Jindřich Hradec, Deep, Brtnice or Brewery Treboň. < / p > < p > It is considered that on the estate of Vok's wife, Kateřina of Ludanice in Lipnik nad Beč was involved between 1590-1593 in the construction of a brotherly choir (today's church of St. Francis Serafinski), even without sufficient proofs. These assumptions are based on the family ties of the client as well as on the technological and external similarities of the buildings - the creation of an object on the pilots (similar to the Kratochvíle Castle) or the breakdown of the facade by the lizene frames (see Rondel in Jindřich Hradec). < / p > < p > Since 1591 it has been documented again in its native Arogn, where it is also likely that he died in 1619. < / p >
